One Day for Mom
By Joe Ulm
As a society, we celebrate Christmas, New Year’s Day, the 4th of July, and other holidays with gusto. They’re BIG holidays and we dive into them with anticipation and enthusiasm. Yet, when it comes to Mother’s day, we often take a casual approach. Brunch with mom. Flowers. Gifts the kids made at school. A hug. Moms don’t generally ask for more. Yet, I bet all those other BIG holidays wouldn’t be nearly as awesome without mom. And, for that matter, neither would all the “normal” days that fall in between.
So this year, give mom the hug that lets her feel how much you appreciate her. Take the time to find a gift that mom will really enjoy. Give mom some “all-about-you-mom” time in a way that shows her how much you love her. On her day; this one day each year that is all about her.
And even though one day isn’t nearly enough time to show mom our how much we love and appreciate her, I’m guessing mom wouldn’t mind one bit if we tried.
To all our moms out there, thank you so much for your patience, your love, and for all you do. May your one day this year be all you hoped for and more.
United, as always.
