Players in our Academy program experience a balance of structured training and competitive game-play, led by PSU’s licensed and experienced coaches. In this program, players develop strong individual skills and learn team concepts, preparing them for Select Soccer and beyond, including:

  • Key concepts of the associative game (recognizing their roles based on different elements of the game such as the position of ball, teammates, opponents, goal, time, and space
  • Game tactics that help them gain advantage over their opponents
  • Fundamentals of all team sports (communication, sportsmanship, leadership, effort, etc.)

Additionally, the concepts of Passion, Skill, and Character are taught throughout PSU’s Academy Program, and it is through these concepts that we help players become great teammates, skilled players, and resilient people in their efforts both on and off the field.

As such, players in PSU’s Academy program are held to high standards, but also reap great reward for their effort. Players in our Academy program are expected to: 1.) Exhibit a desire to improve their soccer skills, abilities, and overall knowledge of the game, 2.) Engage actively, positively, and respectfully with their coaches, teammates, referees, opponents, and parents, and 3.) Put in significant effort during practices and games.

PSU’s Academy program isn’t for everyone, but it is an incredibly fun and rewarding experience that will set players up great for wherever their soccer journey may take them.

Determining "U" Level

street soccer

In our Street Soccer program, players have the opportunity to create their own teams, make their own calls, and unconsciously develop their technical and tactical awareness–all while expressing themselves with the ball at their feet. We believe players should be able to manage themselves and have the freedom to play, interact, problem-solve, innovate, and take ownership of their participation in the game. Teams are created the day of to promote diversity, and games are played without referees to reinforce positive conflict resolution techniques. Our I-Mentor coaches will supervise each field making sure that players and facilities are safe while maintaining a fun and challenging environment.

PSU’s Street Soccer is open to all 9U to 19U players. Our Old School Street Soccer is open to any parent, soccer coach, and their significant others. Bring the whole family!
