High School
Select Program
Igniting the
Future
Our High School Select program prepares players for varsity and college-level play. Players in this program receive high-level instruction on all elements and phases of the game including:
- The interaction between individual talent, teamwork, and strategy
- How to trust their instincts based on the situation while also respecting the game plan
- Recognizing their roles based on various elements of the game
- Working together as a team to gain advantage over the opponent in all areas of the field
- Key principles of possession-style soccer
- How to develop a pre-competition routine
- How to utilize fundamental aspects of all team sports (communication, sportsmanship, leadership, effort, etc.) to be successful in any team environment
High School Select teams are led by PSU’s highly experienced and licensed coaches who are passionate about elevating our players’ technical abilities and tactical understanding of the game.
Expectations are high in PSU’s High School Select program and the program is difficult at times. Therefore, it isn’t a good fit for everyone. However, players who go through the program will receive a rewarding experience that will set players up well for wherever their soccer journey – or life journey – may take them.

*The number and/or duration of practices, games, camps, tournaments, and other PSU events are not guaranteed. Weather, field conditions, and unforeseen circumstances will require the cancellation of these events from time to time. When this happens, PSU will do all we can to reschedule the cancelled event, but it may not be feasible to do so for every event.
**Actual season length depends on game schedule
***PSU changes jersey designs every two years. Players who have a current jersey design from the previous season may use the same jersey, effectively eliminating the uniform fee. Individual uniform components may also be purchased during non-design change seasons. The full Uniform Policy can be found on the Policies page of PSU’s website.
****Pre-offer players are asked to attend tryouts to meet potential new teammates and provide a quality tryout environment for those trying out for the team. There is no fee for tryouts for players who accepted their preoffer
*****Tournaments are coordinated by PSU. However, from time to time, weather, field conditions, and unforeseen circumstances can cause tournaments to be cancelled. When this happens, PSU will make every attempt to reschedule a different tournament later that same season or, in the case of a fall tournament that can’t be rescheduled, reschedule a spring tournament in its place. In the event PSU cannot reschedule a tournament by the conclusion of the spring season, parents will be provided a prorated refund of the tournament fees charged. No refunds are provided for “incomplete” tournaments or tournaments cancelled after any games have been played
