Player Excellence

Creating Opportunities

For Players to Excel

Our Player Excellence Program was inspired by the belief that empowered, well-rounded individuals are advantaged on the soccer field and in life. It’s why the program provides players with opportunities to improve both their soccer skills and their leadership abilities.

Soccer Excellence

Our immersive, next-level training provides each player with the opportunity to improve their game outside of their team activities. For players who are serious about maximizing their on-field potential, Soccer Excellence is a bridge between where they are and where they want to be.

Our optional spring and fall Soccer Excellence programs are included with registration, and we also offer optional winter and summer options for an additional fee. Soccer Excellence is available to all our 9U to 19U players, and includes our signature Street Soccer, Skilz Performance Training, and Velocity Training options.

I-Mentor

I-Mentor provides current and former players 14 years old or older with an opportunity to mentor our younger players while also being mentored by a senior coach, themselves.  I-Mentor opportunities vary by team and role, but all mentorships are designed to help players learn foundational leadership concepts.  As such, players who participate in I-Mentor create practice plans, lead drills, help with elements of team management, and perform other coaching activities instrumental to their success.

I-Mentor players are paid $12/hr. (or provided with certification of volunteer hours as participant prefers), depending on role. However, every I-Mentor role IS challenging and, given many of our I-Mentor participants work directly with our younger players, we are highly selective about who we accept into the program.

street soccer

In our Street Soccer program, players have the opportunity to create their own teams, make their own calls, and unconsciously develop their technical and tactical awareness–all while expressing themselves with the ball at their feet. We believe players should be able to manage themselves and have the freedom to play, interact, problem-solve, innovate, and take ownership of their participation in the game. Teams are created the day of to promote diversity, and games are played without referees to reinforce positive conflict resolution techniques. Our I-Mentor coaches will supervise each field making sure that players and facilities are safe while maintaining a fun and challenging environment.

PSU’s Street Soccer is open to all 9U to 19U players. Our Old School Street Soccer is open to any parent, soccer coach, and their significant others. Bring the whole family!
