Player Excellence

Creating Opportunities

For Players to Excel

Our Player Excellence Program (PEP) was inspired by the belief that empowered, well-rounded individuals are advantaged on the soccer field and in life.  It’s why the program provides players with opportunities to improve both their soccer skills and their leadership abilities.

Soccer Excellence

Our immersive, next-level training provides each player with the opportunity to improve their game outside of their team activities.   For players who are serious about maximizing their on-field potential, Soccer Excellence is a bridge between where they are and where they want to be.

Soccer Excellence is available to all our 9U to 19U players, and includes our signature Street Soccer, Skilz Performance Training, and Velocity Training options.

 Soccer Excellence Winter Schedule

I-Mentor provides current and former players 14 years old or older with an opportunity to mentor our younger players while also being mentored by a senior coach, themselves.  I-Mentor opportunities vary by team and role, but all mentorships are designed to help players learn foundational leadership concepts.  As such, players who participate in I-Mentor create practice plans, lead drills, help with elements of team management, and perform other coaching activities instrumental to their success.

I-Mentor players are paid $12/hr. (or provided with certification of volunteer hours as participant prefers), depending on role. However, every I-Mentor role IS challenging and, given many of our I-Mentor participants work directly with our younger players, we are highly selective about who we accept into the program. As such, participation is contingent upon a number of factors, including passing a background check, having a good GPA, and attending our Coaching Excellence Fundamentals course.

Current I-Mentoring opportunities coming soon.

Skilz Performance Training

Our Skilz Performance Training provides players with a variety of training options for developing their individual soccer skills and improving their tactical understanding of the sport. In this way, players improve their individual abilities, increase their confidence, and enhance their game performance.

The winter season is a great opportunity for our players to continue developing their skill and learning new team concepts. Join us for optional small group opportunities December 2 through March 27. PSU members of various ages and abilities can grow this off season!

Goalkeeper Training

PSU Eclipse: Goalkeeping
At Pewaukee Sussex United, we believe in empowering our players to achieve lifelong success through the game of soccer. Our goalkeeping philosophy is no different. Our goalkeepers, like outfield players, will enjoy the same specific training encapsulating key elements of any good program including technical, tactical, physical, psychological, and social. With our younger groups, we will provide a fun, safe environment where improvement of goalkeeping techniques is emphasized. For our older age groups, we will rely more on our cognitive ability and soccer IQ in decision making and other aspects of the mental game.

street soccer

Street Soccer games are played on small fields with small teams to increase interaction. The program is designed to allow players to “just play” the game in a safe, supervised, and minimally interrupted manner. In this way, players can do what they enjoy the most – play soccer – while getting just enough instruction to help them improve their game. Coaches help create teams and all games are played without a referee to reinforce positive conflict resolution techniques. Street Soccer is open to all our 9U – 15U full year players.

Our Old School Street Soccer is open to any parent, soccer coach, and their significant others. Bring the whole family!

We had a blast at this fall’s Friday night Street Soccer. We’re already excited for spring!

Velocity Training

Our Velocity Training is a holistic approach to performance training that increases player speed, agility, mental focus, and recovery. Training is provided by certified instructors in either a group setting, or in a one-on-one format. Velocity Training session includes an informational component to help players continue to improve their physical and mental abilities beyond their time in the Club, thereby enabling players how to apply their skills and knowledge in all aspects of life, and beyond their time at PSU.
