Summer League

Our Summer Soccer Series balances free play with skill development by playing games on small-sided fields. In this program, players play 4v4 games against each other on 8U fields, helping build both tactical awareness and ball skills in a competitive environment. Games are between 40 & 50-minutes in length (depending on age) with a 5-minute halftime. Play is supervised by soccer-knowledgeable I-Mentor players and adults who help maintain game flow and provide “light-refereeing.” Team rosters are developed by PSUnited by age and gender*, with teams playing one game each week over 5 weeks. Scores are recorded at the conclusion of each game and standings are kept on PSUnited’s website.

Players can wear their PSUnited jerseys – or new PSUnited players can wear matching color (black or gray) t-shirts/jerseys.

All teams must have an adult “team manager” to manage their teams, so please include your interest in coaching with your registration. No soccer experience necessary. Parents are also encouraged to attend and cheer for their team from the sidelines. This program is open to PSU members only – providing everyone a fun and United experience; however, it’s a first-come, first-serve program so register soon!

*Every effort will be made to 1) place players on teams within their age group and gender, and 2) balance teams as best as possible. However, players may be placed on teams a year older or a year younger than their age depending on program registration.

One hour of skill training, one hour of free play.

Improve your ability to score goals! The art of putting the ball in the back of the net is one of the most fun parts of soccer. It takes knowledge, practice, improvisation, and game-like situations to develop the ability and instincts to become a killer goal scorer. Whether you are a center forward or a defender wanting to learn what your opponent is going to do next, this program has it all. This program teaches the following tactical and technical scoring skills:

  • Technical: Power shooting, breakaways, heading, volleying, one touch finishing, and toe pokes.
  • Tactical: Checking back, opening up, movement with and without the ball, combination play, and diagonal runs.

You will spend the second hour of your training in our Dutch program. Split by skill and age, Dutch is the ultimate game to showcase your finishing skills. Think Street Soccer with a running scoreboard! Dutch gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your finishing skills in a free environment playing with friends and teammates. Coaches will keep a running scoreboard throughout the program and will announce the winners at the end of the program.

At Pewaukee Sussex United, we believe in empowering our players to achieve lifelong success through the game of soccer. Our goalkeeping philosophy is no different. Our goalkeepers, like outfield players, will enjoy the same specific training encapsulating key elements of any good program including technical, tactical, physical, psychological, and social. With our younger groups, we will provide a fun, safe environment where improvement of goalkeeping techniques is emphasized. For our older age groups, we will rely more on our cognitive ability and soccer IQ in decision making and other aspects of the mental game.

Determining "U" Level

street soccer

In our Street Soccer program, players have the opportunity to create their own teams, make their own calls, and unconsciously develop their technical and tactical awareness–all while expressing themselves with the ball at their feet. We believe players should be able to manage themselves and have the freedom to play, interact, problem-solve, innovate, and take ownership of their participation in the game. Teams are created the day of to promote diversity, and games are played without referees to reinforce positive conflict resolution techniques. Our I-Mentor coaches will supervise each field making sure that players and facilities are safe while maintaining a fun and challenging environment.

PSU’s Street Soccer is open to all 9U to 19U players. Our Old School Street Soccer is open to any parent, soccer coach, and their significant others. Bring the whole family!
