Player Excellence Sessions

Our Player Excellence Program was inspired by the belief that empowered, well-rounded individuals are advantaged on the soccer field and in life. This year’s Winter Player Excellence Program provides mandatory team training for Academy and Select players as well as optional small group training opportunities open to all members.

The winter season is a great opportunity for our players to continue developing their individual skill and learning new team concepts. PSU members of various ages and abilities can grow this off season!

Choose One or Choose Them All!

Improve your ability to score goals! The art of putting the ball in the back of the net is one of the most fun parts of soccer. It takes knowledge, practice, improvisation, and game like situations to develop the ability and instincts to become a killer goal scorer. Whether you are a center forward or a defender, if you want to learn what your opponent is going to do next, this program has it all.

This program teaches the following tactical and technical scoring skills:

  • Technical: Power shooting, breakaways, heading, volleying, one touch finishing, and toe pokes.
  • Tactical: Checking back, opening up, movement with and without the ball, combination play, and diagonal runs.

At Pewaukee Sussex United, we believe in empowering our players to achieve lifelong success through the game of soccer. Our goalkeeping philosophy is no different. Our goalkeepers, like outfield players, will enjoy the same specific training encapsulating key elements of any good program including technical, tactical, physical, psychological, and social. With our younger groups, we will provide a fun, safe environment where improvement of goalkeeping techniques is emphasized. For our older age groups, we will rely more on our cognitive ability and soccer IQ in decision making and other aspects of the mental game.

street soccer

In our Street Soccer program, players have the opportunity to create their own teams, make their own calls, and unconsciously develop their technical and tactical awareness–all while expressing themselves with the ball at their feet. We believe players should be able to manage themselves and have the freedom to play, interact, problem-solve, innovate, and take ownership of their participation in the game. Teams are created the day of to promote diversity, and games are played without referees to reinforce positive conflict resolution techniques. Our I-Mentor coaches will supervise each field making sure that players and facilities are safe while maintaining a fun and challenging environment.

PSU’s Street Soccer is open to all 9U to 13U full season players. Our Old School Street Soccer is open to any parent, soccer coach, and their significant others. Bring the whole family!

Adult and youth sign up required for waiver completion. But then just lace up and show up!
